Roux Institute at Northeastern University
Initiative for Digital Engineering and Life Sciences
Tsoi Kobus partnered with IDEALS for more than three years to develop a Master Plan and program for a campus that will support graduate learning, research, collaboration, and partnerships with leading technology companies and organizations to advance the understanding of the intersection of digital engineering and life sciences. Programming for the Roux Institute will support learning and collaboration with a focus on growing the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Maine, and extend its reach globally.
The campus is envisioned to include teaching environments such as classrooms, labs and collaboration zones; research and office space for partner companies working directly with IDEALS.
Sustainability and resilience will play a pivotal role in the development of this campus. The goal is to strive for a net-zero carbon footprint to conserve—and be mindful of—water resources and sea level rise, and to create a network of open spaces that enrich the learning, research, and collaboration activities—contributing to a sustainable and socially-responsible presence.
