The highly respected private, prestigious 80 year-old Hong Kong Sanatorium and Hospital is planning for the introduction of the region’s first Proton Therapy Center, which will be housed in the lower and below-grade levels of a new 20-story tower. The HKSH’s Comprehensive Oncology Centre promotes research, education, and training, endeavoring to provide quality services in clinical diagnosis, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and now Proton therapy. The design will provide the best long-term clinical planning and flexibility for HKSH via strategically locating vertical core elements of the program at the west end, leaving the center of the floor open for clinical uses and adjacencies to treatment rooms.
