Tsoi Kobus Design is thrilled to announce that South Street Landing is a recipient of an Honor Award for Excellence in Architecture for Rehabilitation, Restoration or Preservation from The Society for College and University Planning (SCUP) and the American Institute of Architects Committee on Architecture for Education (AIA-CAE).
The former Narragansett Power Station, operational from 1912 through the early 1990’s, sat vacant until 1999 before Tsoi Kobus Design transformed the Power Station into a dynamic facility to serve as a new model of higher education and health innovation for the University of Rhode Island and Rhode Island College, and providing administrative offices for Brown University. The design preserved original historical elements while establishing the Rhode Island Nursing Education Center and Medical Simulation Center, offering a robust nursing education program and housing the second largest medical simulation center in the United States.
