In Memory of Ed Tsoi
It is with deep sorrow we share the news of the passing of Edward T.M. Tsoi. It is impossible to capture the monumental impact Ed had on all who knew him as a teacher, mentor, colleague, and friend. He leaves a legacy of innovation and service that will forever impact the profession of architecture. His values, passion and talent shaped our firm's culture and built its success, and his memory will continue to drive it forward.
Our thoughts are with Ed’s wife Louise and his daughters Laura and Alison and their families. We look forward to sharing details about a celebration of Ed's life at a future date.
"Ed's passing brings enormous sadness to all of those who knew him. I had the privilege of being his teaching assistant, colleague, then partner in co-founding Tsoi Kobus and Associates. Most importantly, he was a lifelong friend.
Ed loved being a father and architect. He and Louise were as proud of their two daughters, Laura & Alison, as Ed was of his prolific work. Ed was incredibly smart, creative, and one of the most effective communicators I have ever met. If Ed believed in an idea — whether about a building or about our profession — he was unstoppable!
Ed, you were like an older brother to me and I love you for that, and you were the best partner a person could hope to have. I hope that you are in peace with your mother and father, and your brother David. Your memory, your values and your talent have continued to drive our firm forward. I think you'd be proud of where we are today — please know that you continue to have a great influence on our work culture and our service to our clients."
